Beannie (formerly Cafe Tart) is located in the heart of Petone, at 198 Jackson Street and was launched in October 2011 by its mother and daughter team of Bev and Annie Robinson. The Robinson's are no strangers to the Cafe scene in Petone, having successfully run the Palace Cafe for a number of years building up a loyal following. After a couple of years pursuing other interests (Annie had a baby and Bev focussed on her catering business), the time was right to return to what they both loved doing.
Beannie has undergone a refurb which has included a complete refit of the cafe interior, graffiti mural work in the courtyard and for the safety conscious you'll be pleased to know the building has also gone through an earthquake strenthening process. The cafe is warm and inviting and the artwork on the walls contribute to the funky atmophere, making Beannie cafe a must visit for your next breakfast, brunch or lunch.
